Press release: bwin rearranges its poker business

Peter Bertilsson is the new Managing Director of the poker subsidiary bwin Games AB.

Vienna/Stockholm, January 15, 2010 – The world’s leading listed online gaming company bwin is reorganising its poker business and establishes Peter Bertilsson as Managing Director of the poker subsidiary bwin Games AB. He follows Carl Klingberg in this role. "We have convinced a true veteran of online gaming b2b business to take the challenge leading this business unit", explains bwin Co-CEO Norbert Teufelberger.

"As the market environment changes in that fast moving industry the b2b capabilities will be key for USA and Asia but also for riding the regulation wave in Europe", says Teufelberger. Thus bwin will strengthen the b2b business as well as focus on the b2c poker next to the sportsbetting competence. "To carve out a distinct and strategic b2b unit is the order of the day. It is time to evaluate, complete and enhance the product portfolio to be prepared for the future", emphasizes the bwin Co-CEO.

Peter Bertilsson has a long history in gambling with +15 years in the industry. Among other assignments Bertilsson was from 2001 to 2006 heading Boss Media, growing the company and directing it into a successful B2B vehicle. He is now coming from an entrepreneurial phase where he has started several new companies the recent years. "I am very happy to take this opportunity, there have never been greater opportunities within the gambling sector than right now and bwin has a very strong position to make them happen" he says.
